The team benefits from the firm's membership of Eurojuris, a European network of law firms.

How can we help?
Our service is based upon gaining an insight and understanding of your business and giving positive and constructive advice to assist you in avoiding claims. We can give training sessions on employment law, policies, procedures and their implementation. This particular aspect of our service is offered on a free of charge basis.
We can assist in the following areas:

  • Employment contracts. We offer standard or individual contracts, advice on employee handbooks. disciplinary policies, data protection, equal opportunities, time off and the right to flexible working.
  • We have experience in negotiating with trade unions and can deal with union recognition agreements.
  • Disciplinary issues and dismissal. We provide written guidelines and specimen documentation to assist you in making decisions
  • Grievance handling. A well developed grievance procedure provides a means of dealing with workers' issues fairly and speedily before they develop into major problems detracting from the day to day business.
  • Discrimination. We advise you on how to implement policies to protect your reputation as a fair employer and prevent discrimination in the workplace.
  • Employment tribunal proceedings. We will study your case and set a strategy reinforced by a project plan which will set out the objectives, the resources, the budget and the anticipated time scale. If representation is needed we have our own experienced advocates or we can recommend specialist barristers at negotiated rates.
  • Buying or selling a business. The Transfer of Undertakings Regulations requires that employees be consulted in the transfer of a business. Furthermore, once the takeover or merger has been completed, harmonisation of employment terms has to be handled with great care.
  • Confidential information, goodwill and trade secrets. These are your most valuable assets. We can advise as to how unauthorised disclosure of confidential information can be avoided and advise about the poaching of customers and employees.
  • Health & Safety. Appropriate policies with regard to health & safety at work are essential.

Andrew & Co provides a fast, efficient and innovative service to employer clients. We are confident that our employment team has the knowledge and experience to give practical advice in response to the many day to day issues which arise in the employment sector.
