Motor Offence and Motor Law Solicitors

Endorsable offences | Other offences | Sentencing guide | Penalty points and your license

Andrew & Co's motor law solicitors offer advice and assistance, including representation, to anyone facing a speeding ticket or other motoring offence. This includes Fixed Penalty Notices, court appearances and parking penalties.

Many people do not understand their rights in the area of motor law. Our experience shows that some clients have accepted fixed penalties and thereby points on their driving licence when they could have pleaded 'not guilty' to the motoring offence. We will advise you as to your possible defence and the likely costs.

Motor law team

The motor law service is managed by Michael Pace, a partner in the firm and the head of our personal injury and motor law team.

Michael is a former police officer with experience in a traffic department, a driving instructor for 7 years and has 20 years experience of dealing with motor offences and road traffic accidents.

Even if you feel you are guilty of the alleged offence, you may still need our motor law solicitors’ assistance in advising you how to present your case, or in the alternative by way of representing you.

Motor law services

Our services include negotiating with the prosecution and putting forward appropriate mitigation on your behalf, if you are pleading guilty. It is very important that you have good advice in such circumstances.

On occasion we have seen that the police do make mistakes and if you feel that you have received a ticket erroneously we can also assist you in dealing with that situation.

We have aimed to give you as much general information as possible freely on this site. In advising you we will always start by looking at the circumstances of the motor offence and the situation you are in and will give you frank and candid advice as regards your options. It is important that in a lot of cases our solicitors’ advice is to accept the consequences.

There are time limits and protocols for responding to either a Fixed Penalty Notice or Notice of Prosecution. We would like to stress however, that before you complete any paperwork and return it to the police, you should take legal advice.

It does help if you can forward the documentation you have received to us beforehand either by email or fax.

If you would like advice on motor offences, talk to our teams of motor law solicitors in Lincoln, on 01522 512123, or Newark, on 01636 673743.
