litigator rejoins Andrew & Co LLP
Philip Armitage returns to the practice where he trained

Highly respected
civil litigator Philip
Armitage is returning to Andrew & Co LLP, where he did his
training in the early 1990s. He will start work as a partner at the
firm’s Newark offices on February 1, providing a range of employment
and dispute resolution services to the local business community.

Philip
joins from Larken & Co in Newark, where he has spent the last fourteen
years, eight as a partner. He is highly regarded by local businesses
and is secretary of the town’s business club, the
Newark Hub. “When we merged with established Newark solicitors
Neville Denham & Co back in October, it was always our intention
to make strategic appointments to enhance our service offering to clients
in the area and we are delighted that Philip is joining us,” says
Peter
Bateson, practice director of Andrew & Co LLP.
Philip’s
knowledge and expertise in civil litigation, including employment law,
consumer/contract law and debt collection will be shared between the
Lincoln and Newark offices to ensure that clients get the best possible
advice and service. Philip will also continue with his other interest;
a Deputy District Judge in South Yorkshire and Humberside.
Newark
was last year identified as one of the Government’s Growth Points
which could see up to 5,000 new homes built, new employment space, new
infrastructure, indeed investment in excess of £1billion. Philip
Armitage, like Andrew & Co has pledged his support to the growth
initiative ‘Newark Future’ and will be focused on ensuring
that local businesses and individuals will also benefit from a wider
breadth and depth of legal services within the town.
Philip
met his wife Karen
while working for Andrew & Co first time round. She works as a legal
executive in the firm’s Lincoln office and they have two daughters.
Philip will join David
Hollingworth and his team in the town centre premises at 33 Kirkgate
on February 1.
