& Co celebrates its 175th birthday
Andrew
& Co hosts a party at the Cathedral Centre,
Lincoln
There
was a large cake but no candles to celebrate Lincoln law firm Andrew
& Co’s birthday on 6th June at the Cathedral Centre in Lincoln.
Over 100 people including clients, suppliers, current and former staff
were present for the festivities.
John
Thomas, the managing director of Lawnet, a national network of law firms
of which Andrew & Co is a member, was a guest speaker. He told gathered
guests that few firms in any business achieved the sort of longevity
that Andrew & Co had enjoyed and it was testimony to its people
and service that it had reached such a remarkable milestone. He made
reference to one of the ‘radical’ founders of the firm and
said that such a spirit would stand today’s partners in good stead
as they faced the challenges of the fast changing legal market.

Darwin, former CEO of Lincolnshire Co-operative proposed the birthday
toast while Andrew & Co’s senior partner Chris Hunter thanked
everybody, both staff and guests, for their continuing support. The
speeches were made in the gardens of the Cathedral Centre in the shadow
of the Cathedral itself. Guests were treated to the sights and sounds
of the circling Peregrine falcons that have made a welcome return to
nest in the Cathedral.
Before
the speeches, guests wandered round the 13th century building and looked
back at the history of Andrew & Co told in old photos, trophies
and the huge ledgers dating back to 1905.
