Corporate Social Responsibility - Andrew & Co Solicitors Cares
At Andrew & Co Solicitors, we take our responsibilities regarding supporting the local community seriously. More importantly, as a team, we take great pride and enjoyment in our initiatives.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of our culture; a business approach which contributes to sustainable development. The company has supported charities across the East Midlands for the last decade.
Our nominated charity – Lincoln Cathedral
As one of Lincolnshire’s oldest businesses, Andrew & Co has pledged to support the county’s most iconic building as its charity of the year.
Andrew & Co LLP Solicitors already supports the cathedral by donating its outstanding client balances towards the maintenance of the building.
But by hosting social events such as quizzes and cake sales, our staff in Lincoln and Newark are dedicating their additional fundraising activities to Lincoln Cathedral .
We will work closely with the cathedral fundraising team to support their efforts across the city.
The running and upkeep of the historic building, which sits at the heart of Lincoln, is predominantly reliant on public donations and the generosity of companies across the city. It costs £1.6 million every year to maintain the building alone.
Chief Executive of Andrew & Co LLP Julie Bailey met the Dean of Lincoln, the Very Reverend Christine Wilson to cement the partnership.
Speaking outside the cathedral, the Dean said: “This is a real encouragement for all the staff at the cathedral. We’re incredibly grateful to Julie Bailey and her team at Andrew & Co for pledging their generous support.
In reply Julie Bailey said “We’ve supported the cathedral for years, so this year’s decision was a very simple one for staff, who took the decision collectively. Many of our colleagues live in Lincoln, or in the Lincoln area. The cathedral is a wonderful building and puts Lincoln on the map. We’re all proud of it and want to make sure it’s standing for generations to come. We shouldn’t take this beautiful building for granted. It’s still standing because of the generosity of so many. It’s our pleasure to play a small part in that.”
With offices in Lincoln and Newark, our staff are keen to get involved with local activities, whether this is in the business community or not. We are always keen to engage with other sponsored events, that we can be involved in, to help our chosen charities. If you know of an event or are organising one please don’t hesitate to let us have the details.
We look forward to hearing from you.
