I joined Andrew & Co in August 2019. I have more than 30 years experience working in the legal profession and most of that time has been spent in conveyancing.
Because I already knew 2 or 3 people at Andrew & Co I was confident that this would be a good move for me. Everyone is really friendly and supportive. What is really important to me is that the firm's work ethic and core values are aligned with how I like to work and live. I care about my work and clients, always striving to deliver excellent service with integrity, respect and support for my clients and colleagues.
My move to the Residential Conveyancing team at Andrew and Co has given me the opportunity to refresh and share my knowledge and experience with a new team of people. After spending many years of my work life with one or two firms I wanted to make a move which would add further skills and dimensions to my repertoire. I am looking forward to working with Jo Sworder
who leads the Residential Property Team for Lincoln and Newark. While I have a lot of conveyancing experience I am looking forward to growing and affirming my skills around equity release and other areas.
I really enjoy supporting clients through all the processes associated with house sale or purchasing. Buying a property is really an exciting time for first time buyers but I do particularly like supporting clients who may need a little more time and support with completing forms. A mature house buyer might need help with new forms or legislation which was not in place when they last bought their home.
Early on in my career I trained for 2 years as a private secretary but while moving to Lincoln, when my husband and I bought our first family home, I had the opportunity to join a legal firm where I started out in probate and conveyancing. In 2005 my employer at the time supported me through my training and exams via CILEx
(Chartered Institute for Legal Executives) for a further 2 years and I became a qualified paralegal. Finding that I enjoy conveyancing so much, I have focussed on residential property conveyancing ever since.
Over the years I have gained a network of working relationships with various estate agents. This is beneficial in building a good understanding of their processes which might affect a purchase or sale locally in Lincolnshire.
I have had a fantastic welcome to the firm and to my team, everyone is really approachable. Being passionate about what I do, I see this reflected in the team around me.
My relaxation and love is my garden in which I spend as much time as possible. I also spend a lot of time hill walking with my husband in Yorkshire and the Lake District.
We recently experienced Scafell Pike
and are very keen to do more of the Alfred Wainwright walks. We are keen campers and I am really pleased that my daughter is reacquainting herself with the delights of hill walking and we can once again enjoy family walking weekends.
