I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a degree in law in 1976. A year later, I joined Andrew & Co and began my training and qualified as a solicitor in 1979. I have remained with the firm, although I worked limited hours when my children were young.
In the past I specialised in residential conveyancing and family law. I changed direction in the late 1990s when I moved into the team dealing with planning personal and financial affairs for the future. I now specialise in wills, administration of estates, trusts, powers of attorney, inheritance tax planning, Court of Protection work and planning for the costs of care. Though a quite different area of law this was surprisingly similar to my previous work in that it involves getting to know clients and their circumstances and advising on the best arrangements for them and their families.
I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioner’s (STEP) a specialist organisation with demanding requirements for those working in this area. I am also accredited by Solicitors For the Elderly (SFE).
Outside of work I enjoy reading, gardening, coast and countryside and village life.
